Correct decision from the linesman. Ben Afra taps the ball forward and Ferdinand takes his legs out. The commentators had made their mind up before even seeing the replay. As a defender, you shouldn't make tackles like that in the goalbox. A clear penalty, a shame so many blind idiots say otherwise.

When a defender is nearer to the ball(rio was), and he slides to put it out of the line, then even if there was moderate to medium contact, NO PENALTY :) the rules are the rules, Rio Ferdinand always slides in the same manner. He didnt spread out while tackling, he goes in at the same angle as his leg, and wouldnt have caught ben arfa's legs anyway. In sissy land that would have not been a penalty. So how is it in the most physical league of the game?

yea.. it should't not a penalty.. it was a clear tackle, but the referee gave the poor decision....
It was obviously a good tackle but Man U have had plenty go in their favour as well! What goes around comes around and Im sure a vital decision will go our way soon.
i thought it was a poor tackle but the above comment is absolutelt true. united deserved the penalty seeing as manchester's goal was an absolute fluke....reminds me of hernandez's first goal for them :D
wtf u say? when hernandez "scored", there wasnt any foul. no arms, nothing. there we see a perfect sliding tackle and get penalty...
