The first part of the video is in slow motion. It appears to be a headbutt but Barton's head is moving a lot slower than that. There simply isn't that amount of force in the movement, and Johnson has, in my opinion, acted to make it look bad. There might have been intent, there might not. But that "headbutt" was not as forceful as Johnson's reaction would suggest.
He got the red card for being Barton. It comes natural to a ref to think a guy like him instigates a fight with an opponent. Not the other way around. I hope they cancel out the one match ban, as it clearly isn't a red card.
But Barton better be prepared because everyone in the league knows he's a lunatic and easily is thrown off, down and shown a red...

Think back to the first game of the season where Barton got Gervinho sent of by over reacting - his own admission. His whining about a 'fellow professional trying to get a professional sent off' is a little hollow.
It may not have been deserved this time but with Barton to be honest, who cares?
